The work deals with a non-marked differentiation of the rainy tropical forest into vertical vegetation belts and with its causes. In extra-tropical mountain ranges the spatial arrangement of vegetation depends particularly on the type of macroclimate, on the altitude and massiveness of mountain range. Principal differences can he observed between the lower, little massive mountain ranges on one hand and the high ones on the other. The Continental macroclimate subdues the variation of spatial differentiation of vegetation as well as the differences between lower and high mountain ranges. Also the small differences between lengths of day and night in the tropics lower substantially the influence of height and massiveness of a mountain range.
