By publishing the study on the air current in Sovakia for a latest worked-up period of 20 years we want to make available the results for a general special public. The study may serve to any new larger investment in the nature, in protecting the human environment, in expert activities as well as in a complex evaluation of geo- graphical conditions of Slovakia. In the paper we have been aimed at major characteristics of the air current in 51 localities of the Slovak Socialist Republic. We have worked up average velocities and frequencies of the wind as well as average frequencies of the wind at a graduated velocity. Further, in the study, there are data from 15 sites of Slovakia, concerning monthly maximum gusts of the wind. A general survey of spatial distribution of the wind velocity in Slovakia is illustrated in 5 maps.
