O článku:
In recent time attention is given in cartography more and more to the so called recognizing aspect. The latest two decades in theoretical cartography have been stigmatized by a strong onset and penetration of the communication theory of information. After its initial being absorbed we can feel a stagnation in the development of the communication theory of map. As in exchange this slowing-down of one-sided and narrow approach to the theoretical thinking is being compensated by a new - a recognizing aspect. The place of the recognizing process is analysed within the cycle „creation and use of the map” and it is stated that this is a normal and natural phenomenon in cartography. Every science is recognizing (has a recognizing function primarily) and there is no reason to denote cartography alone, or any direction of its theoretical development by an attribute „recognizing“.
