Vzťahy úrodnosti a vlahovej zabezpečenosti pôd v oblasti Trnavskej sprašovej pahorkatiny a v niektorých priľahlých územiach

Within Trnavská Sprašová Pahorkatina (Trnava Loessy Hilly Land] and in adjacent areas we meet with almost all the soil types occurring in the territory of the ČSSR. This fact led us to comparing the crops gained in 1971 – 1980 on such soil types as meadow and alluvial soils, chernozems, illimerized soils, brown soils and rendzinas. At the same time we traced moisture sufficiency of the crops under valuation, namely wheat, barley, maize, sugar beet and lucerne. The data found reflected both the fertility and moisture sufficiency. Approximately we can state that the trend of in- creasing fertility in a series of soils as: illimerized soil – brown soils and rendzinas – burozems – chernozems – alluvial and meadow soils was reversed as to moisture sufficiency of the crops traced. Thus we assume that the crop-forming factor, soil moisture, is markedly determined in its effect on the crops by aerial and partly also by thermal regime. Their common effect is reflected just in the crops gained.
