Geografické aspekty exploatácie a transformácie zdrojov energie a ich vplyv na regionálny rozvoj

Mankind employs various resources of energy for its needs. Signification of the individual kinds of resources changes in the history of material production development. At present we are in a situation including a period of transition from restorable energy resources to irrestorable ones. The transition from one kind of energy resource to another, together with different conditions of utilization, bring at the same time also changes in both the regional structure and development of regions. Therefore one of the most important tasks of geography is also examining spatial and ecological aspects in obtaining and utilizing energy resources. We have tried to observe the mentioned processes also in the territory of Slovakia and thus we have illustrated some results of the research also in the map to a scale 1:1 million.
