Interesting habitats of the aquatic and marshland vegetation on the lower Hron river floodplain

Some of representative localities of water and marsh plant communities of downstream of the river Hron are presented. The floodplain is intensively used in agriculture. Oxbows, gravel pits as well as water reservoir are habitats for vegetation of the classes Lemnetea, Potametea, Isoëto-Nanojuncetea, Bidentetea tripartiti and they contribute to preserve the original vegetation of Podunajská nížina lowland
