O článku:
After 1989 social and political transformation was accompanied by change in the demographic behaviour of the population in the Czech Republic. New regional imbalances emerged as a result of the transition from the centrally planned economy to a market economy followed by the disparities in the quality of human resources. These facts were the impetus for the implementation of the presented analysis and it stimulated interest in empirical research, which is able to compare the quality of human resources in districts of the Czech Republic in a broader context. The main aim of this research was to spatially differentiate the selected districts of the Czech Republic based on the quality of human resources. Cluster analysis was used in the evaluation and comparison of demographic indicators in the districts. Although at first glance the demographic situation in the Czech Republic might seem relatively compact, cluster analysis showed that there are quite significant regional or district differences. These disparities are mainly derived from the differences in the development of the economic base, geographical location and previous demographic trends with effects that are currently fading away.
