We present a detailed description, including technical, optical and observational properties, of the photoelectric photometers used at the Astronomical Institute of the Slovak Academy of Sciences during last decades. The article contains long-term experience with the photoelectric photometer at the Skalnaté Pleso and Stará Lesná observatories. The authors hope that this description will lead to better knowledge of and correct work with the photoelectric photometer.
