ERA.Net RUS Plus Single Joint Call on S&T is now open

The Partnership for Modernisation between the European Union and Russia states as one of the priority areas to enhance cooperation in innovation, research and development. In this context the 24 consortium members of ERA.Net RUS Plus propose to implement a Single Joint Call for transnational and scientifically excellent research projects in the fields of Nanotechnologies/Materials/Production Technologies, Health, Environment/Climate Change, Social Sciences/Humanities and Innovation. The national financial contributions of the partners to the Single Joint Call will sum up to approximately EUR 22.2 millions.

Joint Call for S&T projects

 

The goal of the call is to create a long-term research collaboration in the field of research and innovation between EU Member States/Associated Countries and Russia. The Single Joint Call covers Science and Technology projects. Research proposals can be submitted in the following S&T topics:

 

1. Nanotechnologies  

1.1 Advanced nano-sensors for environment and health

1.2 Novel functional nanomaterials based on design and modelling

1.3 Nanomaterials for efficient lighting  

 

2. Environment/climate change

 2.1 Increasing the reliability of regional climate projections: models and measurement

 2.2 Environmental impact and risk of raw materials extraction and transportation

2.3 Extreme climate events and their impact on the environment 

 

3. Health

 3.1 Molecular mechanisms of brain function and pathology

3.2 Regenerative medicine and biomaterials

 3.3 Drug discovery for cancer, cardiovascular and infectious diseases 

 

4. Social sciences and the humanities

4.1 Understanding conflict, identity, and memory: past and present

4.2 Demographic change, migration and migrants

4.3 Opportunities for and challenges to regional development and social cohesion

Slovak Academy of Sciences

Presidium of the Slovak Academy of Sciences at its 14th meeting on 4 July 2014 has agreed to SAS involvement in the project  ERA.NET RUS Plus - Strengthening STI links between Russia and the European Research Area and with the participation of relevant institutions of SAS to deal calls for research projects in the framework of ERA.NET RUS Plus and with the funding of 1 successful research project (up to 25.000.-€/year/project for the period of max 2 years) in each topic. Funding of projects is regulated by the SAS Financial Rules for awarding grants for research projects approved by the SAS Presidium of 2 February 2012 ( on requested to be sent by Jan Barancik). Final decision on financing  makes the SAS Presidium.

 

Only research Institues of Slovak Academy of Sciences are elegible organisations for funding (up to 100%).Applicants from other Slovak RD centers have to cover the project costs from their own sourcfes ( Letter of Commitment). The teams outside of SAS ( universities, another organisations from Slovakia) can be consortium members but not the coordinator of the consortium.
