At the end of March, interested parties announced the signing of the Scientific Cooperation Agreement between SAS and the CNR (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, National Research Council of Italy). This took place on Tuesday, April 9 at SAS in the presence of the Ambassador of Italy, Gabriele Meucci.
On this occasion, the Ambassador commended the active approach of SAS in the context of initiating new cooperation between the two sides, leading to concrete projects. The agreement was signed by CNR President Prof. Massimo Inguscio and SAS President Prof. Pavol Šajgalík. The call for joint projects on the Italian and Slovak sides will commence on 15 April this year and will last for two months. Project co-operation is expected to begin on 1 January 2020. SAS and CNR will jointly support four Slovak-Italian mobility projects for a period of two years, with each institution supporting the same amount. This is a new type of agreement, focusing on real scientific projects, valid for five years with the possibility of an additional five.
Prof. Pavol Šajgalík alongside vice president PhDr. Dušan Gálik, CSc., mentioned forms of scientific cooperation that have already begun between Italian and Slovak companies in the areas of technology and energy. This provides further possibilities for paving the way to closer contacts among scientists in the area of social sciences also. (SPN)
