The article deals with the inspiration of Linguistic to Mythological Research. The author considers that it is possible and also unavoidable to establish the Mythological Research as an exact science. As a paradigmatic pioneer of this way in Cultural Anthropology he introduces C. Lévi-Strauss and his work.

The study deals with the phenomenon of the Celtic Goddess-Mother and her connection with the Celtic Calendar. The author turns attention to the depictions of so called "Sheila-na-Gig" and identifies her with the kosmogenitrix. Further she makes an attempt of hypothetical reconstruction of the Celtic Calendar on the base of Coligny Fragment.

The contribution values the collecting - activities in Slovak ethnography in the inter-war period. Between the years 1928-1944 folk prose has been collected. From the year 1939 it has preserved material from the research based on questionnaires focused on present status of traditional ritual culture in Slovakia. In 1940 it was held a field - work searching the customs linked with the birth, further, in 1942, with wedding, folk architecture and dress.
On the base of these materials it is possible to search the process of developing of traditional Slovak culture. Nowadays, these valuable sources has started to be published.
