O článku:
The author deals with a Latin-Slovak bitext of Martinus Szent-Ivany from the beginning of the 18th century. Focusing on the verb and its grammatical categories, he has been able to demonstrate how both languages are often used in a similar way.
The present essay is a partial survey of Latin-Vernacular relationships in a parallel text. In the vernacular language of the period, latin grammatical contructions are frequently applied. On the other hand, vernacular translations and parallel texts may become a rich source for the study of neo-latin grammar. The author has dealt with accusativus cum infinitivo, ablativus absolutus, the passive voice and impersonal constructions, the use of indicative/conditional in indirect questions and in conditional clauses.
