The contribution documents the development, contemporary trend, obtained results and basic orientation for the future in the areas of cartography, geographic information Systems and remote sensing at the Institute of Geography of SAS in Bratislava The quoted activities are used at the Institute as methodological tools for the collection, processing, analyses, presentation and storage of the geographic information. In case of cartography and remote sensing, the researchers of the Institute contribute by basic research also to the development of the knowledge in the selected areas of these disciplines.
