The aim of the contribution is to present a brief survey of the development and the contemporary state of research of the energy and energetics problems in geography. Through the analysis of accessible literature we are attempting to specify the principal tasks and trends of the energy and energetics research in geography considering the classification of geography of energy as a physical-geographical discipline and geography of energetics as a human-geographical discipline into the system of geographical Sciences.
