In reaction to the study of J. Urbánek (1997) different ways of georelief elementarization are analysed. The absence of exactly formalized definition of elementary landforms and their boundaries is the disadvantage of current conceptions of elementarization. The morphotops of Krcho (1983, 1990) lead to an excessive fragmentation and they are not suitable to morphogenetic interpretations.The elementary landforms are defined by constant value of altitude or constant value of doublet of morphometric parameters – derivations of altitude. On boundaries of elementary landforms there are discrete values of one morphometric parameter at least. The conception of elementary landforms (Minár 1992, 1996) is presented as the most suitable basis for the creation of morphological – observational map (Fig. 3).
