O článku:
The representation of the Earth' surface is often made by contour plots. Usually the contours are plotted for equidistant height levels. We are looking for an optimal interval at the ordinate which let the set of contour lines contain full information about the surface but ensures a minimal number of contour lines. The solution is discussed in the one-dimensional case.
