In [R. Greechie, D. Foulis, S. Pulmannová: The center of an effect algebra, Order 12 (1995), 91–106], the notion of a central ideal of an effect algebra was introduced. We present a generalization of this notion for the class of positive cancellative partial abelian monoids.
