O článku:
The problem of function recovery from qualitative observations is stated and its solution by the kernel method is considered. Qualitative observations are collected as yes/no answers to the question whether a function at $x$ is below or above a random threshold. Motivations leading to this problem statement are briefly discussed. Consistency of the kernel smoother was proved based on LIL with random number of summands. A heuristic procedure is proposed for choosing the bandwidth. Simulations illustrate the behaviour of the estimate for moderate sample size.
