Country Risk Specialist Meeting

The Country Risk Specialist Meeting (CRSM) and conference, which is the only one of its kind in the world, was held in Bratislava on 24 and 25 June 2019. More than seventy experts gathered to analyse the risks of countries around the world united by the Berne Union - the leading lending and investment insurer. Among the invited speakers was prof. Juraj Sipko of the SAS Institute of Economics who discussed not only the economic trends of recent years with the result of the present and near future, economic growth of China, risks of business conflicts and the introduction of customs barriers, but also the process of globalization and deglobalization of the economy at global level and in individual regions. He reminded us that we are on the threshold of a critical period for our entire civilization, facing the global challenges of robotics, technological change, progress in types of communication, and it is for this reason that we need to look for ways to cooperate, follow the principle of local interests and explain why World Trade Organization reform as necessary. The content of the CRSM event was mainly focused on several regions of interest, where we see an increased dynamics of socio-economic and political development (Latin America, Middle East, Southeast and Central Asia).
