Prezident SR Andrej Kiska odovzdáva Kataríne Zavackej Rad Ľudovíta Štúra I. triedy.

High ranking national awards for Katarina Zavacka and Mária Omastová

On January 8, Slovak President Andrej Kiska, honored 30 personalities by awarding their "honest work, extraordinary talent, personal courage, and exceptional contribution to our country." According to the President, it is also thanks to these people that our country is a better, more beautiful, smarter, more decent and a more just place for the lives of all. Among the award-winning personalities was Katarína Zavacká from the SAS Institute of State and Law, who received the 1st class Ľudovít Štúr award, and Mária Omastová from the SAS Polymer Institute who received the 1st class Pribinov kríž.
JUDr. Katarína Zavacká, CSc., 1st Class Ľudovít Štúr award
This work deals with the study of the history of state and law in the 20th century. In her work, Ms. Zavacká focuses primarily on the historical-legal analysis of processes of building and liquidating democratic legal systems.

Ing. Mária Omastová, DrSc., 1st Class Pribinov kríž award.
This work focuses on nanotechnology applications in interdisciplinary research on polymer composites and nanocomposites, focusing on sensors, biosensors, actuators and solar cells. Ms. Omastová has been working at the SAS Polymer Institute since 1995 and has been a member of the Learned Society at SAS since 2016. She has also been a member of the SAS Presidium since 2015. Among other activities, she is the Slovak representative at the European Polymer Federation. (an)
