Postmarxism tries to strategically link social demands of particular struggles to build a common chain of equivalences. However this concept leans on democracy as the open space for hegemony, which covers the fundamental social antagonism and thus functions as a fetish for problems that cannot be articulated within the horizon of liberal democracy. In this sense democracy fulfills dreams of postmodern capitalism confronted with the trauma of the class struggle.
