About article:
This paper addresses the first find of the primitive hyaenid species Ictitherium viverrinum from the territory of Slovakia. It is another find of the rare Upper Miocene member of the Carnivora. The fragment of the lower jaw with premolars P3, P4 and molar M1, M2 — alveole and nearly whole posterior part of the mandible is described. The ictithere evolution, phylogenetical status and comparision with related species is briefly focused in this article.
