About article:
The Slanské Vrchy Mountains represent remnants of self-standing volcanic apparatus. The volcanic complex lies on sedimentary layers of the Neogene. They are broken up into a system of blocks, where the fault lines are bound with intrusive and extrusive bodies coming to light. The favourable lithologico-structural situation conditioned the rise of a whole series of slope modelling processes, the products of which are identifiable also in present-day relief. In modelling the slopes predominantly mass creep slides, rock falling and solifluction took part. Products of mass movements are block-disintegrated places and block fields, while products of sliding, in tum, are planar, rotational and rotation-planar landslides. Rock falls manifested themselves in the form of debris bodies (talus fans, talus), landfall and block places. Solifluction participated in forming slope deluvia, rock streams and alluvial debris cones.
