Hodnotenie zmien vo využívaní poľnohospodárskej pôdy v okresoch Pezinok a Senec v rokoch 2004 – 2018

Regarding the extent of land cover changes, agricultural land losses are one of the most serious environmental problems. Usually, they are linked to large-scale land take for construction. However, extensive land abandonment is also a widespread problem in many European countries. The Land Parcel Identification System (LPIS), which was originally established as an administrative and control mechanism under the EU Common Agricultural Policy to provide support for farmers, is an optimal source of information about real land use. The aim of the paper is to present the changes in the utilization of agricultural land during the period 2004 – 2018, identified by the LPIS database in the territory of the districts of Pezinok and Senec. These districts are characterized by high dynamics of landscape changes, both in connection with intensive suburbanization and abandonment of agricultural land, especially in the sub-mountain areas. The identified agricultural land loss has been classified regarding their current land cover (e. g. built-up, abandonment and gravel mining). The total value of the agricultural land take for construction sites based on pedologic-ecological units in both districts is EUR 3,514,872. The value of the abandoned land is EUR 1,326,215.
