About article:
Presented contribution evaluates ways of quantitative determination of the spatial heterogeneity especially of man-dominated country. Its typical pattern is that of fragmented landscape mosaics of "island" elements in agro-urban matrix. From the point of view of biotic diversity heterogeneity of the landscape mosaic can be defined as a quantity that might be objectively expressed by a synthetic date on number, rate and richness of the links between its elements, differing from each other in type of the corresponding ecosystem and in area. This definition is transformed into mathematical expression. Way of quantitative determination of area het- erogeneity of real landscape mosaic is illustrated on particular example of man-dominated landscape in central Czechia.
