About article:
The article brings a brief survey of conception of metageography, theoretical geography and metacartography with a short commentary. The author proposes to distinguish 1) metageography in original conception (in sensu stricto) as an originating science of geography, on its rational organization and management, and 2) "theoretical-methodological" metageography studying theoretical geography, geographical methodology and history of geographical thinking. Both partial metageographies create a whole – metageography of broader interpretation (in sensu lato). Their tasks are presented. Difference between metageography and theoretical geography is stressed.
Separation of metacartography of the theoretical cartography and understanding of metacartography analogically to metageography is recommended.
