About article:
Maps of land use and land cover provide a topical picture of the contemporary landscape. The study brings a survey and brief evaluation of the so far published maps of Slovakia created using the conventional approaches to mapping (map presentation of the statistical data on land use and map presentation of the real land use and land cover classes), as well as the activities of the Institute of Geography of the S.A.S. related to the land use/land cover applying the remote sensing data.
