Zmeny diverzity vinohradníckej krajiny v zázemí Svätého Jura v období 1896–2011

The main objective of this article is the assessment of the dynamics of landscape diversity (LD) changes in the prevailingly viticultural landscape around Svätý Jur town. Landscape diversity (LD) values have been assessed for 66.16 ha of prevailingly viticultural landscape in a part of the Svätý Jur cadastre for the years 1896, 1949 and 2011. The study area was divided into a grid (of 25 m spacing) and LD values were evaluated for all cells for all three years. The Shannon landscape diversity index (SHDI) and Simpson landscape diversity index (SIDI) were applied as LD metrics. The LD values increased during the 1949–2011 period. A gradual shift of areas with high LD value from the northern to the central parts of the study area has been observed. Comparison of the SHDI and SIDI values showed certain differences arising from the mathematical nature of calculations of the two metrics, specifically in terms of classification of the final LD value sets into intervals. The method used appears to be a useful and effective tool for fine-scale identification of landscape attributes and improvement of landscape management.
