Programme SASPRO has brought to the academy many promising young scientist, and the SAS Presidency evaluates it very positively. Last year, in cooperation Comenius University in Bratislava and the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava, we have submitted a similar project under the Horizon 2020 programme, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions - COFUND. Although the project received a good rating, it failed to get among the funded ones. The Presidency of the SAS has already approved the intention to modify the project according to the evaluators' comments and to submit it again in the next call, which will be announced on 4 April 2019 (deadline for submission of projects is 26 September 2019). The results will be known in February 2020. Until we succeed in getting the project, we will use our own resources, which has been used to co-financed SASPRO (60 percent of the total project) to start our own mobility and reintegration programme called MoRePro. The program aims to bring about 10 outstanding scientists to SAS annually. The Slovak Academy of Sciences will provide them with adequate and motivating conditions for their scientific work. Scientists are expected to increase the quality of the research environment and scientific output. At the same time, the SAS aims to attract future leaders who will develop research topics competitively in an international context and will be able to acquire their own grant resources. One of the conditions that will be assessed by international evaluation panels is the ability of candidates to apply for European Research Council, ERC projects. The programme is designed for foreign and Slovak scientists. The first call for applications will be announced in the forthcoming months, the information will be published on SAS website.
