Peter Szalay, PhD.

Mgr. Peter Szalay PhD.

Architecture historian and theoretician, work as researcher at the Department of Architecture, Institute of History, Slovak Academy of Sciences, Bratislava where he also obtain PhD. degree in 2009. Graduated at the Departmental of Art history, Philosophical faculty of Comenius university in Bratislava in 2006. His research is focused in 20th century and contemporary architecture and urban planning, special the issue of preservation and conservation of modern architecture and its context to society and politics. He is a member of the editorial board of magazine ERA 21 and A10 and the member of the review panel of scientific journal Architektkúra & urbaniszmus He participated at the ICCROM , MARC course in Finland (2011), at the Investigation campaign of House Tugendhat in Brno (2010). He works at architectural and material researches of modern monuments in Slovakia such as Neologic Synagogue in Žilina (2012 – 2014) and Sommer bath Green frog in Trenčianske Teplice (2010 - 2015). He is a member of DOCMOMO Slovakia.
