O článku:
The aim of this paper is to identify regions of electoral support of the main political parties in Slovakia and to evaluate the regional stability of this support. The influence of the change in electoral districts on the regions of electoral support is also examined. In this study results of four parliamentary elections held in Slovakia in 1990, 1992, 1994, and 1998 are considered and compared. Five political subjects in Slovakia are selected, namely HZDS (Movement for the Democratic Slovakia), SDL (Party of the Democratic Left), SDK (Slovak Democratic Coalition), SMK (Hungarian Coalition Party), and SNS (Slovak National Party). Using the method elaborated by Jehlička and Sýkora, regions of support of these political parties are identified and analyzed. The findings of this analysis suggest that regional differences in political party support have emerged in spite of the short history of parliamentary democracy in Slovakia.
