This article provides an overview of the reporting process for Arabic manuscripts, or manuscripts
in Arabic script, found in public libraries in France. It highlights the ongoing process aimed at pro
moting this important but yet little-known heritage. The identification, followed by the cataloging
and gradual digitization of the manuscripts, is accompanied by the systematic online publication of
images and related metadata, with the goal of uncovering collections, texts to be edited, and sources
to be studied.
