O článku:
In the present paper is given a short characteristics of Amaranthus deflexus – an adventive species of South-American origin, in Slovakia in the past classified as a rare ephemerophyte. In connection with the rich occurrence of A. deflexus in Brno, where it is considered as an epoecophyte and quarantine weed, as well as with the newly recorded sites in the city of Bratislava, a selected population (Bratislava II, Páričkova street) has been studied in the years 1997–2001. Amaranthus grows in stands related to the subxerophile synanthropic community from the alliance Polygonion avicularis. The chromosome number 2n = 34 has been established on material from this site in agreement with the majority of previous data from literature. The germination capacity of seeds varied between 46–96 %. Further spread of the species in Bratislava or other towns of Slovakia on the Pannonian migration route of adventive plants is expected
