The epixylous moss Buxbaumia viridis (Moug. ex Lam. & DC.) Brid. ex Moug. & Nestl. is considered as endangered in the European countries. In the Stužica National Nature Reserve (“Polo-niny” National Park, north-eastern edge of Slovakia) an occurrence of the species was confirmed by author after 15 years. The population comprising eighteen young capsules was recently recorded there. Precise description of the locality, ecological characterization and historical data overview are given
