O článku:
Phytoplankton species composition of the Váh River and its dead by – pass arm at Piešťany (Western Slovakia) in 2004 and 2005 is presented. In the Váh River 59 genera with 192 species and 18 varieties and formas were found, and in the dead arm 52 genera with 166 species and 18 varieties and formas. Diatoms with 30 genera, 177 species and infraspecific taxa in the Váh River and 31 genera with 165 species and infraspecific in the dead arm were a strongly dominant group of the in-vestigated assemblages forming 85 % and 89.2 % of total taxa, respectively. From diatoms (Bacillario-phyceae) 7 taxa are new for the algal flora of Slovakia, i.e. Achnanthes holsatica Hustedt, A. rosii Hustedt, Caloneis amphisbaena f. subsalina (Donkin) Cleve, Navicula novaesiberica Lange-Bertalot, N. stroemii Hustedt, Nitzschia aequorea Hustedt and N. geitleri Hustedt.
