Language closeness of two Slavic languages (linked closer and co-operating more in the past) is apparent in the vocabulary of both languages and especially in the phraseology. In this study the author deals with Slovenian and Slovak phraseological units. On the basis of their comparison many common features are located which resulted not only from common Slavic ground but also from the language-historical developement of the Slovenian and Slovak languages. The aspect of mutual closeness of both languages allowed us to devide phrasemes of these languages into several groups. This phraseme division comes out from the comparison of the feature which is based on the structure of compared phrasemes and individual language-formal or lexical elements.
