From words naming domestic animals the words koza and cap are substantial in particular. While the name koza sectionalises in Slovak territory only minimally (and only from a phonetic aspect), non-castrated male of a goat, i.e. kozol, has various names in Slavic languages, that’s why we can talk about considerable lexical disparity. It is characteristic of the Slovak language that, in dialects, the word used as a name of a male goat is not kozol but cap which became a technicality. Slovak is by that the only Slavic language in which the word cap naturalized not only in dialects but also in a standard language. The name cap infiltrated into several Slavic and Non-Slavic languages. This name is actually one of characteristic words of so-called Carpathian area. The name kozol is known in Slovak dialects. But not as an animal name but in diverse word-formative modifications to name various reals. Rich polyvalence and substantial phraseology are characteristic for both, the word kozol and the word cap. It is shown in numerous collocations in Slovak as well as in other Slavic languages.
