The text addresses the profile and content of the journal Slovak Ethnology, with emphasis on the ethnic question in the years 2007 - 2011. In the introductory part the situation of Slovakia is contextualised, in terms of the information flow in world of anthropological and folkloristic discourse. Subsequently the question is posed: who publishes in the journal, and what themes are addressed there? It is shown that the ethnic question has a very important role in terms of promoting the concept of ethnicity as a component of human identity. From the point of view of the orientation of content and themes, the journal receives a highly positive rating.
