This article deals with the position of the Jewish community in the period 1945 - 1948 in Slovakia. The author takes as her starting-point activities aimed at reacquisition by Jews of their original civic and economic rights and the problems connected with their rehabilitation and restitution of their property. In the civic and also the political sphere a decisive role in the formation of new relationships was played by anti-semitism, which ultimately was reshaped also on the legislative and ideological levels.
