Authentic document or text of the Uzhhorod-Union was unknown 370 years. Recent research has confirmed the existence of the document. Therein formulated four conditions, presbyters of the Eastern Rite recognized the Bishop of Eger for his Ordinary and promised him respect and obedience. This article is a critical analysis of the document and explains its content in the historical and canonical-legal context of old Hungary and the Catholic Church. A part of this article is the original Latin text of the document and the signatures of the signatories (in Cyrillic), and Slovak translation.
