O článku:
The analytic method of Rudolph Réti (1885 – 1957) is distinguished by focusing on the motivic-thematic processes in the musical work. Réti attempts to identify the thematic connection of the individual parts of a sonata cycle by means of a cell system and thematic models which are found in the entire composition. His principal analytic material is Beethoven’s piano sonatas. The author of the paper clarifies Reti’s method of musical analysis and applies its procedures in her own analysis of Beethoven’s Sonata in F Minor op. 2, No. 1 for piano, with the aim of verifying the applicability of Reti’s method and its contribution to the theory of musical analysis. At the conclusion of the work there is a highlighting of one aspect, on which the sense and significance of this analytic method depends.
