PhDr. Katarína Haberlandová, PhD.

Katarina Haberlandová is an architectural historian. She graduated in Theory and History of Art at the Philosophical Faculty of Palacky University in Olomouc in 2001. Between 2001 – 2004 she worked at The Monument Board of the Slovak Republic in the field of technical monuments. She defended her doctoral work at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Trnava in 2003. Since 2004 she works at the Institute of Construction and Architecture of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, where she focuses in her research on the history of the inter-war architecture, the work of Czech architects in Slovakia and the history of industrial architecture. Her research approach of modern industrial architecture is not only historical, but includes potential approaches to the preservation and revitalization of industrial heritage as such.
