From June 5 to 7, the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) will take part in the largest science fair in the Czech Republic. Among more than a hundred exhibits presented by the Czech Academy of Sciences, universities, and innovative companies, researchers from SAS will also showcase engaging demonstrations.

In the "science factory" of the Institute of Materials and Machine Mechanics SAS, visitors will discover how fine powders are transformed into solid materials that play a crucial role in various industrial sectors. The Department of Mineral Biotechnologies at the Institute of Geotechnics SAS will demonstrate how to effectively remove harmful substances from contaminated water in environmentally burdened areas. Materials like ceramics, glass, nanotubes, and absorbents—all vital in the fight against environmental pollution—will be on display. The fascinating microscopic world will be presented by the Institute of Inorganic Chemistry SAS.

Literary Bratislava will be within reach thanks to the Institute of Slovak Literature SAS. Places brought to life in Slovak literary works will create a unique image of the capital through text.

On Thursday, June 5, at 5:00 PM, a presentation of the Czech edition of the book Milan Rastislav Štefánik – The Man Who Spoke to the Stars will take place at the Science Point. The author, historian Michal Kšiňan, together with historian Jakub Štofaník, will guide visitors through the captivating life story of one of the most prominent figures in Czechoslovak history—Milan Rastislav Štefánik. Visitors can purchase the book at the Slovak Academy of Sciences booth during the science fair.
