European First Year Experiance Conference

The European First Year Experience (EYFE) Conference will be held at the University of Wolverhampton, UK on 7th, 8th and 9th May, 2008.

This third EYFE Conference will build on the successful events in Teesside, UK (2006) and Gothenburg, Sweden (2007) providing further opportunities for sharing practice, research and networking opportunities for all those engaged with Higher Education across Europe .

Staff and students are invited to submit exciting papers, workshop presentations or poster presentations for this high-profile event.

Please submit abstracts electronically to EFYE@wlv.ac.uk using the attached form.
Abstracts can be submitted for any of the following: a Workshop (1 hour), a Paper (20 mins + questions) or Poster presentation (Maximum A1 size+ table top if required).

The workshops, papers and Poster presentations will relate to the experiences of first year students and are likely to include one or more of the following topics:

Institutional change and the first year experience
Student induction
Supporting student learning (and enhancing student success)
Study skills support
Student helping student
Transitions
Retention and progression
Employability
Diverse student groups
Student perspectives on university life
Student participation in decision making
Student finance
Hearing student voices (new this year)
The conference will provide the opportunity to:
share research outcomes
share good practice
meet other practitioners from across Europe
explore European issues
make links and establish networks of like-minded people

The language of the conference will be English, however there will be a range of staff and student ambassadors from across Europe to meet & greet you and help you while at the conference.
