Scimago Institutions Rankings creates a ranking based on the indicator which combines three main areas - research, innovation and social impact

The Slovak Academy of Sciences is the best research institution in Slovakia

The Slovak Academy of Sciences ranked 1st among 16 Slovak research organizations in the Scimago Institutions Rankings (SIR). Comenius University in Bratislava is in second place, and the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra occupies the third place. The world ranking is led by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

The aim of the SIR evaluation is to point out to the scientific, economic and social characteristics of research institutions in approximately 130 countries around the world. The evaluation creates a ranking according to an indicator which combines three main areas - research, innovation and social impact. The criterion for ranking the institution is the publication of at least 100 works included in the SCOPUS database during the last year of the selected time period.
