"Chinese scientists have a keen interest in working with Slovak scientists in the area of research and development of new ceramic, magnetic, bio, as well as other progressive materials..." says Mgr. Jan Dusza, DrSc. from the SAS Institute of Materials Research in Košice on his return from an almost month-long lecturing tour of Chinese universities and scientific organisations.

During his stay at the invitation of Chinese colleagues, he visited Northwestern Polytechnical University, Xi'an, where he and Prof. Pavel Šajgalík, President of SAS, visited with some extraordinary professors. In collaboration with Professors Chengyu Zhang and Feng Gao, they are preparing various projects and have jointly published scientific papers. “A great professional contribution for me was a visit to the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the exchange of experience among others with academic prof. Dongliang Jiang. The lecture tour also included a speech at the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences in Ningbo, where I was greeted by the president Prof. Huang Zhengren and colleagues,” says leading expert in ceramic materials, Prof. Ján Dusza. He gave eight lectures in total and presented the PROMATECH center in Košice with progressive technological possibilities for the preparation of new materials as well as modern methodologies for their testing and analysis. "Professor Dusza took the opportunity during his stay to attend the International Hard Materials Conference in Khao Lak (Thailand), where he was invited to give a lecture on Nanomechanical Testing of Ceramic Materials.
