IMPULZ Projects at Midterm: Interim Results, Challenges, and Future Prospects

The Slovak Academy of Sciences cordially invites the professional public to the public defense of interim results for projects funded under the prestigious IMPULZ grant scheme. The event will take place on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 13:00 in the Dionýz Blaškovič Lecture Hall at the Institute of Virology (SAS Campus Patrónka, Dúbravská cesta 9, Bratislava). The event titled "IMPULZ Projects at Midterm: Interim Results, Challenges, and Future Prospects," will offer a unique insight into the groundbreaking scientific results achieved by excellent researchers in the first half of their IMPULZ projects´implementation period.

Significance of the IMPULZ Scheme

The IMPULZ programme is the flagship grant scheme of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, whose mission is to enable exceptional scientists to build research teams and develop excellent research at a top international level.

Programme

The event will be conducted in English. Successful applicants from the second year of the IMPULZ call in 2022 will present their milestones, challenges and visions for the further development of their innovative projects in following blocks:

• 13:10 – 13:50 – Eugenia Kelbert Rudan (Institute of World Literature SAS)

Project: Translation and Cross-Lingual Stylistic Transfer: Towards a Theory of Language Contact in Literature

• 13:50 – 14:30 – Tamás Csanádi (Institute of Materials Research SAS)

Project: Atomic-scale Controlled Strengthening and Plasticity of High-entropy Ceramics

• 14:30 – 15:10 – Ján Jamroškovič (Institute of Molecular Biology SAS)

Project: G-quadruplex DNA for Genetic Engineering in Bacteria
