The new spokesperson of the Slovak Academy of Sciences is Jozef Bednár
Since January 15, 2026, the position of spokesperson of the Slovak Academy of Sciences has been held by Jozef Bednár, a journalist with several years of experience in the media, including marketing and public relations.
He graduated from the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Comenius University in Bratislava (1994), where he received his doctorate in 2007. Since completing his university studies, he has worked at the daily Smena and later at several advertising and public relations agencies (for example, Istropolitana D´Arcy, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide in Prague). He also founded his own company in strategic communication.
He was a spokesperson and advisor to the Minister of Culture, Marek Maďarič, and later his parliamentary assistant.
He worked as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Mass Media Communication at the UCM in Trnava and as an assistant professor at the Faculty of Business at the University of Economics in Bratislava.
From August 2020 to July 31, 2025, he was the Deputy Director General of the SNM for the Communications Department. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of TASR.
He is the author of three books about autism: Unbreakable – 18 Open Conversations about Autism, Fate Decided, and Between the Raindrops – Autism, the World of Truth.
