Three competitions for new buildings on the SAS campus at Patrónka have been successfully assessed

In 2025, the Slovak Academy of Sciences announced architectural competitions for three new buildings on its modern scientific campus in Patrónka, Bratislava: the SAS Presidium Headquarters, the SAS Social Sciences Pavilion, and the Pavilion of the SAS Center of Experimental Medicine. The competitions follow the urban vision of the gro architekti studio, which aims to transform the SAS campus into an open, modern scientific space.

The jury for all three competitions consisted of: Mgr. Martin Venhart, DrSc., President of the SAS; Ing. arch. Juraj Palovič; Ing. arch. Ilja Skoček; Ing. arch. MgA. Michal Fišer; Ing. arch. Miroslava Zadražilová; Ing. arch. Marek Harčarík; and Ing. arch. Laura Krišteková, PhD. The evaluation was attended by senior staff of the organizational units whose premises were being considered in the competitions.

The Slovak Academy of Sciences – Presidency Building competition received 14 proposals. The winning proposal was submitted by the ohboi, s. r. o. studio. Authors: Jan Kubát, Ján Paločko, Johana Trojanová, Martin Jireš, Linda Kaliská.

The Slovak Academy of Sciences – Pavilion of the Center for Experimental Medicine competition received 12 proposals. The winning proposal was submitted by the Pelčák and Partner Architekti, s. r. o. studio. Author: Prof. Ing. arch. Petr Pelčák.

The Slovak Academy of Sciences – Pavilion of the Center for Social Sciences competition received 11 proposals. The winning proposal was submitted by the MAPA architekti, s. r. o. studio. Authors: Mgr. art. Marián Stanislav, Ing. arch. Patrícia Botková, Ing. arch. Matúš Peklanský, Ing. arch. Mark Mátis, Ing. arch. The Anh Dang.

The proposals will be published and personally presented at a press conference organized by the Slovak Academy of Sciences in January 2026.
