Doctoral Candidates Received Certificates at the Academy-Wide Seminar
On Thursday, March 20, 2025, another in a series of academy-wide doctoral seminars took place in the Auditorium of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAS) at the Academy’s campus in Bratislava-Patrónka. The event aims to foster connections among doctoral candidates, allowing them to present their projects and discuss careers and life in Slovakia.
Professor Jon Stewart, from the Institute of Philosophy of SAS, shared his story as an American scientist who chose to pursue a career and life in Slovakia.
The seminar also featured research presentations by Gholamreza Mohammadi Khounsaraki, MSc., from the Institute of Materials Research of SAS, RNDr. Martina Magurová from the Neurobiological Institute at the Biomedical Research Center of SAS, and Mgr. Olha Norba from the Institute of Slovak Literature of SAS.
"An essential part of the seminar is learning to present one's research clearly and concisely while adhering to time limits, as well as engaging in discussions with the audience," explained Prof. Ľubica Lacinová, a member of the SAS Presidium.
The importance of doctoral studies at SAS was also acknowledged by the president of SAS, Prof. Pavol Šajgalík, who presented certificates to successful applicants of the Doktogrant program. These included certificates of grant approval or certificates of quality.
